At Your Service

There are foodies; there are chefs; and then there are people whose lives quite literally revolve around food. Epicurean Endeavors owner and Executive Chef Christina Curry, 34, is one of the latter. The Rochester, N.Y., native and current Buckhead resident landed in Atlanta in 1996 when her father’s job transferred him to the South. Upon graduating from the University of Dayton in Ohio, Curry’s focus was on finding a job she’d love. “I thought about what I’d be willing to do for free,” she explains, and the first thing that came to mind was cooking.

After acing culinary school at The Art Institute of Atlanta and landing gigs in some of the top restos and luxury hotels in D.C. and ATL, including The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta and J&G Steakhouse at W Washington D.C., she knew it was time to strike out on her own. “I’d always dreamed of working at The [Ritz-Carlton],” Curry says. “After

I did that, I knew I had a good foundation to take the next step.” Thus, Epicurean Endeavors was born—first as a side business, and now as a full-service catering and personal chef company with a dozen-plus staff members and a roster of notable clients.

When it comes to her fave dishes, Curry’s all about keeping it real, fresh and local whenever possible. “I love to find the best ingredients I can and make them shine,” says Curry. “If I call a dish lemon oregano chicken, then that’s what’s in it: lemon, oregano and chicken.”

Ready to dig in? Epicurean Endeavors is partnering with the locals behind Red Brick Brewing for a four-course beer dinner on Oct. 21 featuring beer-infused eats and pairings. It all ties into the love Curry has for A-Town’s foodie scene. “The nice thing about Atlanta is that we have everything,” she adds. “There’s nothing you could really want culinary-wise that you couldn’t find here.”

With a talent like hers in the kitchen, we’re inclined to agree. @epicureanatl
