What’s the real value of going viral? For popular TikTok creators, there may soon be more than just sponsorship deals.
TikTok has announced its first NFT collection set to drop on Ethereum and powered by Immutable X. Dubbed “TikTok Top Moments,” the collection pairs some of TikTok’s top creators with cutting-edge NFT artists, including Lil Nas X, Grimes and more.
"The creation that happens on TikTok helps drive culture and starts trends beyond the platform,” TikTok Global Head of Marketing Nick Tran states in a press release. “As the creator economy continues to grow, we're continually looking for new and differentiated ways to support our creators. Now, fans can own a moment on TikTok that helped shape the internet while supporting some of their favorite creators.”
“TikTok Top Moments” will pair six popular creators with six NFT artists to create a digital artwork inspired by a viral TikTok video.
The first auction will be held Oct. 6, featuring NFT artist Rudy Willingham’s tribute to Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” music video. It’s colorful video loop that runs 81-frames long, focused around Willingham’s signature stop-motion cutouts.

NFT auctions, or “drops,” will then run weekly, one at a time. Future collaborations include Curtis Roach with Coin Artist; FNMeka with Rtfkt; Gary Vaynerchuk with Jess Marciante and x0r; Bella Poarch with Grimes; and Brittany Broski with Grimes.
The TikTok NFTs will be available on the Ethereum blockchain, which makes transactions using Ether, the second-most popular cryptocurrency behind Bitcoin. The works themselves and sales will be processed on Immutable X website and platform.
Each TikTok NFT video in the collection will also be presented at Infinite Duets: Co-Creating on TikTok, a new TikTok Exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NY, on display now through Nov. 5.
All proceeds from NFT sales will go to the TikTok creators and NFT artists. Visit tiktok.immutable.com to view the full TikTok Top Moments collection and place a bid. Learn more at newsroom.tiktok.com.
