You heard it here first: From now on, nights that call for VIP treatment both start and end at Thompson Buckhead (@thompsonbuckhead). Joining the illustrious ranks of Buckhead Village, the newly bowed lifestyle hotel promises to be 10 stories of thoughtfully curated experiences brought to life with classic Southern charm. We recommend the whole nine yards, as a staycation cozied up in one of the hotel’s 201 residential-style guest rooms is a no-brainer. Brought to life by Dallas-based Studio 11 Design, the hotel’s interiors champion thoughtful design details such as area rugs, marble mosaics and chevron-patterned wood floors, all anchored with floor-to-ceiling windows and luxe jewel tones. Enjoy unfettered views of the Atlanta skyline while savoring custom 400-thread-count Sferra linens, Sealy Tempur-Pedic mattresses, D.S. & Durga bath products, oversize signature robes and a locally curated minibar.

Black marble vanities adorn the bathrooms.
If you can manage to get yourself out of the ridiculously comfortable bed, mosey on down to Dirty Rascal, Thompson Buckhead’s anchoring old-school Italian American restaurant. “Growing up in a Jewish American family, my mother would often cook homestyle Italian American food for us several nights a week,” shares James Beard Foundation-nominated chef Todd Ginsberg. “The experience gave me the inspiration for Dirty Rascal’s cuisine, which we wanted to keep classic and comforting, while applying a slightly more elevated technique.” In accordance with Italian American tradition, the chef created portions large enough for sharing, delivering a family-style experience. This spring, the chef plans to bring in local English peas for one of his favorite dishes, prosciutto and peas with angel hair, as well as fresh asparagus to be served hot with butter and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
Guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows.
Those lucky enough to be staying in a Parlor Suite, one-bedroom suite or the Thompson Suite are invited through the ultraexclusive doors of Tesserae, the hotel’s members-only rooftop club. Complete with a dedicated F&B menu and world-class mixology program by Joe Alessandroni, Tesserae is a destination in and of itself. The culinary program is new American, featuring dishes such as lobster salad with butter lettuce, tarragon and crispy shallots, and guinea hen dumplings in a brown butter sauce. The club’s up to 600 members will have access to a members-only workspace, exclusive events, networking opportunities, independent film screenings and more. Tesserae’s indoor and outdoor spaces are adorned with midcentury minimalist furnishings, providing the perfect backdrop for Atlanta’s A-listers to hold court. Our recommendation? Don’t walk, run, to Thompson Buckhead to nab a Tesserae membership, ultraluxe suite and Dirty Rascal rezzy for the ultimate Buckhead getaway.
