You may recognize her from Kia commercials or remember her as a morning personality for 104.7 The Fish for almost the better part of the 2000s—either way Heidi Rew is no stranger to the limelight. The 33-year-old Atlanta native began her love for all things media at Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn., where she landed her first radio gig hosting an unscripted show five days a week, which led to her nine-year run with The Fish. Now, Rew is pursuing a passion for blogging, with her site Parties for Pennies, while maintaining her hosting and voiceover talents with Heidi Rew Productions. “[I started the site] as a way to encourage others to entertain without stressing over finances,” she explains. From DIY projects to entertainment tips to recipes, this jill-of-all-trades is helping readers put the mostess in their role as hostess. But Rew isn’t resting on her blogging skills alone. After three years of conquering the Web, she’s taking her Internet know-how to the small screen with The Modern Post, a talk show concept where Rew features local bloggers and brings their posts to life. The pilot episode (free online at includes a workout routine from Yoga in Heels’ Donna Burke, a food segment with The Urban Gatherer’s Vanessa Parker McIntyre and more. Rew’s ultimate ambition? “[That the show will become] a weekly series on an online network such as Netflix or Amazon,” she reveals. When the energetic entrepreneur isn’t filming or dreaming up her next blog post, catch her with hubby Mike at spots like Muss & Turner’s and Hankook Taqueria. We can’t wait to see where she pops up next! @modernposttv; @parties4pennies
