Stop putting it off.
“Procrastination and excuses are the top two reasons people fall short of achieving their goals,” says Conti. So, start working on those New Year’s resolutions before Jan. 1. “And, yes, that means having two drinks on New Year’s Eve instead of six!” she adds.

Buddy up.
If you know your friend is waiting on you at the gym, or you’ve hired a personal trainer, are you going to skip? “I would hope not!” says Conti. “Having a workout buddy holds you accountable. And if you’re paying a personal trainer to be on their roster, that’s even more reason to show up.”

Know your numbers.
Conti advises folks to learn how to calculate their caloric deficit. Take your resting metabolic rate—the calories you burn on a daily basis based on your gender, height, weight, body fat percentage and a couple of other factors—plus your calories expended during exercise. This equals your total calories burned for the day. Then, subtract that from the total calories you’ve eaten, and if you reach a negative number, you’re in a caloric deficit. Hello, fat loss! “Shoot for a caloric deficit of 200 to 500 calories per day, and—voila!—you’ll lose half a pound to a pound of body fat per week.” @mcontifitness

Stephen Moleski
As a 16-year vet of the beauty industry (with a fab client list that includes Kim Kardashian West, Mel B, Chrissy Teigen and Kim Zolciak-Biermann, just to name a few), ATL welcomed this sizzlin’ glam guru when he made the move from L.A. to the South. Moleski recently launched a bespoke on-site beauty service where he’ll assess your current makeup, lighting situation, application skills and more. Sign us up! @stephenmoleski

MiMi Johnson
Since expanding her beautifying reach from in-demand MUA to a new brick-and-mortar spot dubbed The Glamatory in Smyrna, Johnson keeps busy with a soon-to-launch makeup line as well as plans to hit the road in 2016 on a collaborative tour to help educate and inspire up-and-coming beauty pros—that’s what we call paying it forward in style. @mimijonline

Jennifer Duvall
As a freelance makeup artist (under the name JennySue Makeup), longtime blogger and mom to three, this glam pro has spent years testing and trying a slew of products to find her tried-and-true faves for every face. Now you can find her hosting beauty events at spots like Bloomingdale’s, beautifying her growing roster of clients and blogging about her latest get-gorgeous tips (plus, look out for an upcoming podcast she and her husband are creating called Making It Up As We Grow). @jennysuemakeup

McKenzie Mann
This SCAD grad is now part of RAW Bronzing Studio’s glam squad, a service the spray-tan studio recently added that offers makeup application, one-on-one interactive lessons, lash extensions and more. Mann’s experience in the industry (she’s also an imaginative body painter and special-effects artist) has garnered her a serious following, evidenced by her 16,000-plus YouTube subscribers and more than 1 million views! @mc_gnomeski

Nyssa Green
As the Emmy Award-winning owner of beauty company The Green Room Agency, this hardworking MUA (along with her talented team of hair and makeup pros) has years of experience dolling up everyone from local news anchors to reality TV stars and everyone in between. Lengthen those lashes.
Save a little cash with do-it-yourself false lashes. Pettus suggests picking up some waterproof black glue and lashes. To apply, spread a little glue across the band of the false lash. “It’s an awesome way to make your eyes stand out,” she adds.

Get your strobe on.
Have you heard? Strobing is the new contouring, y’all. Pettus recommends applying a product like M·A·C Cosmetics’s strobe cream ($33) before your foundation to accentuate cheekbones and other features.

Make your pout pop.
For a classic look, Pettus recommends trying a red like NARS velvet matte lip pencil in Cruella ($33, Bluemercury). Or for a playful look, opt for a hot-pink like Tom Ford Beauty’s Electric Pink in matte ($52, Neiman Marcus). @nikolemorrowpettus
