They say some things are worth the wait, and if there's one collab worth waiting for, it's Steve Madden X Slutty Vegan.
Atlanta-based restaurant chain Slutty Vegan (@sluttyveganatl) and iconic fashion brand Steve Madden (@stevemadden) partnered for a limited-edition PETA-certified vegan sneaker and bag collection. The two brands are making history, marking the first time a fashion shoe brand and a vegan restaurant have collaborated.
Slutty Vegan has skyrocketed in popularity in the past year. The brand went from taking orders through Instagram to a national food truck that tours multiple locations to expanding to Brooklyn, Birmingham and more.
“I am thrilled that Slutty Vegan is able to partner with such an amazing company like Steve Madden,” says founder and owner Pinky Cole. “When the opportunity presented itself, it was a no-brainer. This collaboration is bigger than just a shoe—it is about showing people that you don’t have to live inside a box. You can be disruptive and break every glass ceiling, even if it means being a burger joint that has a vegan shoe!”
Styles in the collection include the Possession sneakers and the Bsettitup bag, both of which were put through a Slutty Vegan makeover created with PETA-approved vegan materials, featuring the restaurant’s signature colors, style and attitude. Both products have already sold out on the Steve Madden website but are still available to purchase via Slutty Vegan’s website. Atlanta shoppers can also purchase in-store at Lenox Mall’s Steve Madden location.
Pinky Cole continues to give back to the community with her rising influence in the world of vegan food. The Pinky Cole Foundation focuses on empowering young people of color by developing entrepreneurship- and financial literacy-focused education initiatives. Slutty Vegan and Steve Madden will continue to give back to the community by donating $1 from each sale of both the sneakers and bags to support PETA’s work in animal rights advocacy.
“When you encounter the kind of bold sensibility and exploding popularity of Slutty Vegan, collaborating with them was obvious,” says Steve Madden, founder and owner of the brand. “Pinky and I share that dare-to-disrupt spirit.”
