A Runway to Remember

By Ashton Pike | August 8, 2017 | Articles

From themed bar crawls to epic throwback tunes, the ’90s have given us scrunchy-crazed ATLiens a lot for which to be thankful, but only those who’ve spent a quarter-century living in the A will remember the little-known endeavor Shoe Cares, hosted by Bob Ellis—a store that, at the time, had only celebrated a few birthdays in Phipps Plaza. Fast-forward 25 years and the humble project has morphed into Jeffrey Fashion Cares, a nationally lauded philanthropic affair that raises awareness (and tons of moola) for Atlanta AIDS Foundation and Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta. Thanks to founder Jeffrey Kalinsky, the megaevent has cemented ATL’s rep as a hot spot for front-row-sitting celebs who come out year after year to gaze upon the season’s trendiest silhouettes. Join in on the fashionable fun Aug. 28 with a pre-show reception; signature runway show featuring looks from Balenciaga, Lanvin, Valentino and more; and a silent auction to celebrate the silver anniversary. Cheers to the next 25! Tickets from $500, @jeffreyfashioncares
