If Atlanta had a designated adventure guru, it would be Joseph Yates. Check out his Instagram feed, and you’ll find dozens of daring poses scattered throughout rows of breathtaking travel pictures. As co-owner of a local creative agency that focuses on video production, he has traveled around the world to work on visual content creation for nonprofits, weddings and various global brands. This summer, the photographer and videographer will travel to Spain, Uganda, Belize and beyond. But underneath his daredevil grin is a homegrown Georgia boy whose everyday adventures include grabbing a beer on the BeltLine, cheering on the Atlanta Braves at SunTrust Park, and frequenting the city’s surrounding waterfalls and swimming holes. “Atlanta has such a wide variety of things to do; it’s hard to find a better city to spend your summer in,” says the Douglasville native. “I’ve definitely fallen more and more in love with Atlanta throughout the years—its people, its food, my home church [Passion City Church], and the nature that surrounds it.” @josephyates_
