If there is one thing we’re chasing regarding fashion trends, it is how to obtain the chicest and most effortless look. To do that, every detail has to be overthought without seeming so. Ladies, you get it. Guys, you are blessed to be able to go straight from the office to a dinner date. Sometimes, it’s a simple updo, and Atlanta-based Machett (@shopmachete) gives us eco-chic. Suppose that’s even a thing. From baking to clothing retail, Machett, known by those around her as JJ, has always been one to create; however, behind the doors of her Marietta studio, magic happens.
Born from the belief that accessories should be beautiful, sustainable and long-lasting, Machete creates products you’ll want to pick up off your vanity decades to come, an ode to Jennifer’s vintage buying background.
Machete began with four earring designs, which caught the attention of the fashion community, and soon she was working on more designs. Now, meet the French pony Barrett and reiterate their Apple watch strap. For the Barrett, it is not quite a pony and not quite a bun, but this new little addition to your accessories will elevate any hairstyle.
Designed in the U.S. and handmade in France, the barrette is made with Parisian hardware and Italian acetate. We don’t exactly know what that means without heading to Google, but it’s clear the brand values quality, and as long as it holds a thick head of hair, we don’t care how it gets made. Determined by nature, the designs and colors evoke a sense of the lakes of Italy and the mountains of Utah. So, no matter where you wear your Machete piece, there is always a sense of place and sustainability.
“We focus on designing accessories with longevity in mind, aiming to create items that bring joy every time they are used.”–JENNIFER MACHETT
