It’s all in the details for Dr. Paul Daraei, who says he was drawn to complex facial anatomy from an early age and, later, to surgeries that required meticulous technique. “Blending those qualities with artistry and the desire to improve a patient’s outward appearance to better reflect their personality influenced me greatly,” shares the board-certified head and neck surgeon and fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeon.
Originally from Southern California, Daraei moved to Atlanta for medical school at Emory University, where he also completed his residency, and now works alongside Dr. Louis DeJoseph to deliver state-of-the-art care at the prestigious Premier Image Cosmetic & Laser Surgery. Through his specialization in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery—and specific interest in rhinoplasty and hair restoration surgery—Daraei works to help people achieve their aesthetic goals and improve their level of self-esteem and confidence. “The patient inspires me mostly,” he says. "Sitting down and discussing the things that bother the patient and listening to their concerns guides my surgical approach. Often, a combination of small changes can make the patient happy, and achieving those results at a high level inspires me.”
Professionally, Daraei enjoys giving back by doing a select number of cases pro bono to restore facial function and breathing to those in need, as well as sharing what he’s learned with residents and fellows through his practice's fellowship program. And when he’s not working, the doctor loves soaking up all that Atlanta has to offer with his wife and son, from exploring the Atlanta Zoo to cheering on the Braves and Falcons, not to mention frequenting the “many fire stations around Atlanta to look at the fire engines with my son,” he says.
It’s clear that this dedicated surgeon known for his precision and patient-centric approach is just getting started. “It is great to be a part of the best facial plastic practice in Atlanta,” Daraei shares. “I have been given the opportunity to be one of the select few surgeons focused on cosmetic rhinoplasties, but I am excited to ramp up our hair clinic.
