Inside Fox Theatre's New Marquee Club

A night at the Fox Theatre is always special; it’s an excuse to dress up, dine out and delight in a performance under the venue’s majestic “night sky.” What could possibly make the experience any better?

Enter the Marquee Club, a gorgeous new lounge for members looking to mix and mingle before, during—and, in some cases, after—events. The 10,000-square-foot space, which holds 375 people, is the result of a $10 million expansion, and, boy, is it swanky. Step inside through a private entry to discover Mediterranean hors d’oeuvres swirling by on trays and mixologists shaking custom cocktails behind five premium bars. Designed by architecture firm Lord Aeck Sargent, the interiors mirror the Fox’s overall aesthetic: Think Moroccan tiles and gilded accents that give off a glam Hollywood vibe. Tucker, Ga.-based Corn Upholstery Company created the unique furniture seen throughout, from tufted leather poufs to sleek blue banquettes.

From the main lobby, wander upstairs to the mezzanine before ending on the colorful rooftop terrace with a prime view of the Fox’s iconic illuminated sign. It’s the first time the public has had access to the roof in nearly 50 years, making it an Instagrammable spot like none other in Atlanta. Says Adina Erwin, vice president and chief operating officer of Fox Theatre Inc., “We believe we have created an example for how historic venues may still stay competitive within the ever-changing landscape of entertainment. For the Marquee Club, we had to think outside the box to create a premium VIP experience within the ‘box’ of historic preservation.”

For those who aren’t members but still want to explore the now-even-more-fabulous Fox, per-event access to the Marquee Club is available on a first-come, first-served basis for select shows. @foxmarqueeclub
