How ATL Native Amber Grimes is Climbing Her Way to the Top

By Briar Davis | November 18, 2019 | People

Global creative, influencer and philanthropist are just a few of the titles that describe the dynamic Amber Grimes. At just 28 years old, the ATLien was appointed as senior vice president of global creative at Capitol Music Group, making her the youngest black female SVP in the label group. “I’m very aware that I’m a door-opener,” says Grimes, whose portfolio includes industry icons like Nick Cannon, Mike Will Made It, 6LACK and even the legendary Paul McCartney. While her professional achievements are enough to make her notable, the #girlboss is also known for her killer style inspired by comfort—a must-have for office days that start at 9am and are often followed by meetings, dinners and shows. “My style is a true reflection of me—unique and unconventional,” she says. “You can catch me in a two-piece suit, or a sweatsuit, or a crop top and biker shorts. My clothing is just another avenue for me to express myself.” Here, she chimes in on a few of her faves. @burrcardi
