Atlanta’s newly-opened Hotel Granada is brimming with culinary flair and an authenticity like no other.
Situated in the heart of Atlanta’s Midtown neighborhood lies Hotel Granada. Moments away from the city’s museums and bustling business district, as well as the lush green spaces of Piedmont Park, this historic gem has recently undergone a two-year restoration spearheaded by developers Monomoy Property Ventures and Scarp Ridge Capital Partners in collaboration with the world-class hotel operator Aparium Hotel Group. The restoration transformed the 100-year-old property into a luxury haven for 21st-century city living.
Built initially as the Granada Apartments, the newly-opened Hotel Granada celebrates its century-old heritage with classic Southern inspirations mixed with an old-world European charm. Such a dreamlike aesthetic has been carefully curated by architect Ken Gowland of the New Orleans-based MetroStudio, who has ensured the preservation of the building’s Spanish colonial architecture, including the stucco walls, red-tiled roof and a refurbished fountain positioned at the center of the hotel’s Crepe Myrtle-shaded courtyard.

Upon first entry to the property, guests are greeted in the lobby by a bohemian-Spanish ambiance created by Austin-based interior designer Cameron Carr. Shades of green, blue and terracotta adorn the textiles, floor coverings and decorative objet d’art, while bespoke wooden furniture enhances the luxurious atmosphere.
The hotel’s 120 rooms and suites have been individually designed and decorated with plush bedding and velvet seating. Additional amenities, like Grown Alchemist bath products and a bar stocked with curated beverages and snacks, enhance each space. The larger suites, meanwhile, like the Oasis Studio, Piedmont and Mosaic, feature additional living and dining spaces.

Housed throughout the outdoor courtyard and main lobby sits Hotel Granada’s all-day dining destination, Pom Court, where guests and locals can discover shareable plates reminiscent of traditional Southern and Spanish cuisine. Led by executive chef Jaime Cubias, culinary highlights include a trio of Empanadas tucked with beef short rib, confit chicken and vegetables, and deviled eggs and chicken chicharron that beautifully marries the flavors of Spain with classic Southern party fare. What’s more, the hotel is also equipped with a calendar of social events for those seeking a more intimate gathering spot, including meditation sessions, floral workshops, and a brunch held every weekend.
With a cocktail lounge set to open shortly, Hotel Granada is certainly a bucket list essential to check out in 2024. If charm and unpretentious luxury are your thing, this glorious city escape is your next stay. granadaatlanta.com
