A bewitching, fan-favorite fantasy takes center stage as Harry Potter and The Cursed Child makes its highly anticipated debut at Atlanta’s iconic Fox Theatre from Feb. 28 to March 21, 2026. The Tony Award-winning production will anchor the 2025 and 2026 Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta season. This theatrical phenomenon, based on the original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, has captivated audiences worldwide with its innovative stagecraft, spellbinding illusions and emotional storytelling. Originally premiering on London’s West End in 2016, just before moving to Broadway, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is set 19 years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It follows Harry Potter’s son, Albus Severus Potter, and his unexpected friendship with Scorpius Malfoy, the son of his father’s childhood nemesis, Draco Malfoy. As the two navigate the pressures of their famous family legacies, they inadvertently set off a chain of events that could change the past, present and future of their wizarding world.
What makes Harry Potter and The Cursed Child an unmissable theatrical event is its groundbreaking special effects, intricate storytelling and mesmerizing stage illusions. From wand duels and levitating Dementors to characters appearing and vanishing before the audience’s eyes, the play seamlessly blends cutting-edge stage magic with deep, emotional storytelling. The production’s run time is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, including an intermission, and it is recommended for audiences ages 10 and up.
The North American touring production features a seasoned cast of Broadway and West End veterans alongside rising theater stars. John Skelly leads as Harry Potter, with Trish Lindstrom as Ginny Potter and Emmet Smith as Albus Potter, the troubled son struggling under his father’s legacy. Matt Mueller and Ebony Blake return as Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, with Ben Thys as Draco Malfoy and Aidan Close as Scorpius Malfoy, his bookish yet kind-hearted son. With a 30-member ensemble and groundbreaking stagecraft, the production delivers a visually stunning and emotionally powerful theatrical experience worthy of its Broadway and West End roots.
The Fox Theatre, one of the many historic landmarks in Atlanta, serves as the ideal setting for this grand production. Known for its elaborate Moorish-inspired architecture and opulent interior, the venue has hosted legendary productions such as The Lion King, Hamilton and Les Misérables. With its breathtaking design and immersive ambiance, the theater will undoubtedly enhance the already magical world of Cursed Child.
