Everyone knows Atlanta is a foodie’s ultimate playground. Any and every type of cuisine and cocktail you can imagine is represented whether you’re hitting the town ITP or OTP. It can be a lot to digest (pun intended), so consider this your go-to guide to a weekend of all-out indulgence at some of the city’s best restos from Southern Proper Hospitality Group (@southernproperhospitality), all vetted by yours truly at JEZEBEL.

With patio season in full swing, Tin Lizzy’s Cantina (@tinlizzyscantina) is celebrating by introducing a new sipper: a top-shelf skinny margarita named The Juice Is Worth the Squeeze. Pair it with the limited-time Nashville hot chicken taco at any one of its seven locations throughout ATL, and you’ve got yourself a good time.
With a reimagined rooftop and refreshed culinary direction, Buckhead’s Gypsy Kitchen (@gypsykitchenatl) is a must-visit restaurant with a view. Situated inside Buckhead Village District, the Pan-Mediterranean restaurant serves up dishes that take your taste buds on a trip around the globe, from Spain, Greece and Lebanon to Morocco, Israel and beyond. You’ll find lesser-known palate pleasers like Turkish coffee-rubbed brisket on the menu of shared plates, which is complemented by a vibrant lineup of handcrafted cocktails and wines.

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect brunch spot, look no further than The Southern Gentleman (@thesoutherngentlemanatl). Amazing views? Check. Even better food? Check. The Southern-inspired gastropub has prime real estate in Buckhead Village District and is the ultimate brunch-date destination. Of course, we’d be remiss not to mention its standout dinner menu, which features nonstop crowd favorites like locally sourced trout, delicata squash, and Berkshire pork chop with smoked bacon and yellow corn succotash.

It doesn’t have to be Taco Tuesday for you and your friends to grab a table at Chido & Padre’s (@chidoandpadres)—although the Buckhead hot spot does have a live DJ and a new tequila-tasting station available on Tuesdays, so do with that info what you will. Come for the fresh margs and stay for the new menu additions that include carne asada, portobello mushroom tamales, crispy chicken flautas and flash-fried snapper.
Once you’ve finished catching up over chips and queso at Chido & Padre’s, slip behind the hidden door at the entrance and into The Blind Pig Parlour Bar (@theblindpigparlourbar) for after-dinner drinks. The secluded speakeasy rotates themed decor and drink menus every season, so it’s always a new experience. What’s in store for spring, you ask? Only one way to find out…

Set inside a charming 1930s cottage within Crabapple’s Historic District, Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails (@miltons_cuisine) is home to brunch, lunch and dinner menus chock-full of flavorful farm-to-fork dishes. Must-try items for Sunday brunch include Nashville hot croissant French toast and goat cheese-stuffed fried green tomatoes Benedict. But on any other day, opt for an entree from the brand-new lunch menu, like the ramen noodle salad with everything-crusted ahi tuna or a pickle fried chicken sandwich.
A beach getaway in the heart of Buckhead, The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill (@thebigketch_buckhead) is always there for the ATLiens who didn’t get their PTO approved. Fresh seafood and coastal-inspired fare are unmatched here, with new menu highlights including a hot buttered lobster roll and a Mediterranean basil quinoa bowl with grilled seafood of your choice. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, it’s a low-key, paradisal spot to kick back over shared oysters and live music. Pro tip: Don’t sleep on the $1 Oysters Happy Hour. They pair perfectly with the Smoke & Fire margarita.

Ocean & Acre (@oceanandacre) took “new year, new me” to heart and has so far revamped its menu, kick-started a new lunch service and even brought in new leadership. The Halcyon haunt in Alpharetta lauds local farm communities and coastal cultures alike with signature smoked meats, seasonal produce, shareable seafood dishes and an emphasis on the raw bar. Our go-to order rotates between one of the resto’s fried seafood platters, jumbo scallops with butternut squash-corn succotash and cast-iron crabcakes.
