Get Low

Kick off those high heels, ladies—there’s a posh new flat in town! Actually, there’s many, all at the just-opened shoe boutique FLATZ, flaunting 1,070 square feet of plush pillows, tufted velvet lounges and sleek footwear shelves, designed by Atlanta’s own Goodrowe | Hobby. “I want customers to feel like they’re stepping into a high-end shoe closet,” explains owner Kelci Stringer, a self-described “power shopper” with previous residences in New York and L.A., and a stint as a buyer for Marshall Field’s. So if there’s anyone who knows how to play footsie, it’s Stringer, whose idea for FLATZ came 10 months ago during a pampering foot massage, (of course). “I remembered going to Pella with my mom and sister back in the ’80s. I used to love Hahn Shoes,” she says. Now, with FLATZ, Stringer is bringing back the single-style shoe store with scores of sexy skimmers in styles that don’t sacrifice trends for comfort from brands like Frye, Sam Edelman, Paul Mayer, Melissa and even Atlanta-made OKA b. Get to steppin’! $130-$400, @flatzshoes
