After a short stint at SCAD, Atlanta native Mary Margaret Bishop eventually realized that her artistic talents required a shaker, glassware and spirits. She had years of experience working in various restaurant-industry positions, but it was her bartending gig in East Andrews at age 19 that stole her heart. Now 25, Bishop joyfully creates luscious cocktails like the Bluecoat barrel-aged gin-infused Strawberry Fields Forever at the highly acclaimed Watershed to go alongside well-known executive chef Zeb Stevenson’s elevated Southern fare. Sharing her expertise for concocting amazing drinks, Bishop says, “Don’t add too much. The best cocktails have five ingredients or less; one of them being ice.” Spoken like a true artist.
