Fresh oysters from Beetlecat
1. Beetlecat
Ford Fry’s much-buzzed-about ninth restaurant, Beetlecat, little sis to The Optimist, will be a two-story seafood-focused concept (think oysters, wood-roasted crab and more) with patios on both levels for alfresco dining. Bundle up!
2. Amer
The team behind Bocado is branching out with Amer, an intimate cocktail bar expected to open this month, which will highlight fun concoctions like the Super Coke, plus small plates and snacks.
3. Bread & Butterfly Cafe
Made. From. Scratch. That’s all you need to hear to anticipate the arrival of Bread & Butterfly Cafe from Cakes & Ale chef-owner Billy Allin, where you’ll find pastries, sandwiches, savory tarts and even antipasti paired with wine, beer or housemade tea.
4. Char Korean Bar & Grill
Craft Izakaya’s Richard Tang is spicing things up with the addition of Char Korean Bar & Grill, a Korean barbecue joint that will feature a mix of traditional Korean staples and more creative dishes, such as sweet-potato tempura, plus a craft-cocktail program operating from the restaurant’s double-sided bar.
5. Hampton + Hudson
Billy Streck, co-owner of Grain and Cypress Street Pint & Plate, and his wife, Jenn, will debut their first solo concept this fall: Hampton + Hudson, a community-driven bar and resto offering an upscale twist on classic American pub fare.
