Couldn’t squeeze in that lavish vacation into your already-packed summer schedule? Buckhead Village’s newest establishment, drawing inspiration from the California coast and Yucatan Peninsula, brings the Mediterranean home. Carmel (@carmelatl), Tal Baum’s latest restaurant concept, brings the essence of her upbringing on the world’s most beautiful beaches to Atlanta; its vibrant menu and offerings are sure to satisfy your coastal cravings— no passport necessary.
As the founder of Atlanta’s Oliva Restaurant Group, Baum is no stranger to the innovative world of crafting unique dining experiences. Through its easy atmosphere and savory coastal cuisine, Carmel richly reflects history and culture. Even the name pays homage to family— named after Baum’s daughter Carmel and her family home in Mount Carmel, Israel.

Executive chef Luis Guevara Salgado also had a coastal upbringing and has crafted a menu with the best of both the land and the sea: fresh seafood alongside bold flavors of seasonal produce and unique cuts of meat. Local foodies visiting the establishment can rest assured that Baum and Salgado had no shortage of international inspiration both in the kitchen and at the bar. Patrons will experience featured meals such as shrimp with chorizo and pickled tomatillos paired with creamy polenta, along with an avantgarde drink menu with ingredients from coasts around the globe. So whether you’re feeling French and want a late-night coff ee or would prefer to sip on an Old World wine from Italy, Carmel has no shortage of options. Utilizing cozy architecture that reflects the soft lines of the coast and an earthy ambiance throughout the restaurant and bar, the space evokes a sense of tranquility intertwined with a connection to the specific accents of the design. The variety of seating options, from the outdoor patio to warmly lit romantic nooks, makes Carmel the perfect place for any occasion. 3009 Bolling Way, Ste. G130
