Atlanta's Museum of Design has a reputation for housing some of the country's most breathtaking exhibitions, and its newest display is no exception. Close to the Edge: The Birth of Hip-Hop Architecture celebrates the intersection of urban space and music—A combo central to the city we call home.
Atlanta’s no stranger to hip-hop—that’s probably why the city can’t stop buzzing about MODA’s (@modatl) newest exhibition. Close to the Edge: The Birth of Hip-Hop Architecture celebrates the influence that the spirit of hip-hop culture has had on architecture and urban design over the last 30 years. The exhibition features work from 34 participants representing seven countries, reinforcing the movement’s worldwide impact through a variety of media and forms of expression. Atlanta is the fourth stop for Close to the Edge after three previous shows in New York; St. Paul, Minn.; and Charlotte. The display will run through Jan. 29, and tickets to view the exhibition will be available for advance purchase on MODA’s website and for walk-ins at the museum.
