Tone your booty with a class package at City Surf Fitness.
Don’t be a paddlepuss, y’all. The water’s perfect to dive right in and try a workout at one of Midtown’s latest fit studio additions: City Surf Fitness.
“Thanks to the boards, our workouts throw instability into your fitness routine. So, at first, you’re going to feel wobbly,” says Jeanette Straeter, owner of the Atlanta location. “Being on the board means that even if you’re working biceps, your legs and core are still active, and working to keep you stabilized. Also, we use resistance bands, dumbbells and other toys, so it’s hard to get board with being on our boards.”
Straeter first discovered City Surf when she was living in NOLA and was immediately hooked. Two years later, she decided to take the plunge and open the Monroe Drive outpost. Newbies can expect 50 minutes of surf-inspired moves in each class, with the focus of the workout depending on the day (that is, think legs and butt on Tuesdays and full-body boot camp cardio on Fridays).
Drop-in classes are $22, but newcomers can purchase an unlimited intro week for $35 (and attend as many classes as they can shred in seven days). Who’s stoked to give it a try? @citysurfatl
