Billy’s with the band. After 13 years of friendship, Southern designer Billy Reid and Mumford & Sons have teamed up for their first collaborative collection. Inspired by their friendship and their mutual commitment to their respective artistry, the capsule collection features the folk band’s signature grit in iconic Billy Reid designs. Each jacket, vest, shirt, pant and boot was directly influenced by the band’s members. “Their inspiration was personal—they wanted pieces to use and wear daily,” says Reid. “We began from familiar styles from the collection that they had worn before and worked with each band member to create their own unique versions.” Dubbed the Gentlemen of the Road capsule collection, the collaboration pays homage to Mumford & Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road Fund, which was founded in 2016 to benefit charities fighting for social justice and common good around the world. Continuing the mission of its eponym, the collection will donate a portion of its proceeds to Equal Justice Initiative, an organization committed to ending mass incarceration and excess punishment in the United States.
