East Atlanta or Cabbagetown and Grant Park for the night out you'll never forget?
EAST ATLANTA
Some might call it the mecca of cocktail hours, and those people would be correct. Offering a top-notch selection of cocktails, wines and liqueurs, plus a full tap list and even ciders, Argosy (@argosyeav) really is the total package. As if that weren’t enough, the “secret stash” of whiskeys is stuff of legend.
The Supper Club
With an ever-changing menu, Banshee (@banshee_eav) always gives you a reason to come back. Stick around long enough on the weekend and you can get in on the real action—three words: hot dog cart.
The Party Spot
Nestled in the heart of East Atlanta Village, Ten ATL Bar & Lounge (@tenatl) is known around town for its extensive music selection—think R&B Thursday, Old School Sunday, Bourbon & Blues Wednesday and more. Whether a live band or DJ is up on stage, you’re always guaranteed an all-out jam sesh.
The Hangover Hangout
A bagel a day keeps the doctor—ahem, hangover—away. Insert Emerald City Bagels (@emeraldcitybagels), the beautiful brainchild of Jackie and Deanna Halcrow, who got their start selling wholesale to a few coffee shops and restaurants in town. Flash-forward to 2021, and you can now get your perfect bagel—or what the founders dub “as close to a N.Y.-style bagel as you can get outside of the five boroughs”—at its EAV shop, complete with decor reminiscent of the duo’s favorite Manhattan bagel shops.
GRANT PARK/CABBAGETOWN
The Watering Hole
Coffee shop by day, bar by night—dreams really do come true. Say hello to Full Commission (@fullcommissionatl), Memorial Drive’s hidden-gem cocktail bar. From the original cocktail menu, order the Fire Sale; and from the handcrafted draft cocktails, the refreshing Bullet Train with jasmine-infused Suntory Toki Japanese whisky is a standing favorite.
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila... more? The Mexican spirit never stops flowing at popular resto Patria Cocina (@patriacocinaatl). Wash it down with a guacamole and salsa starter, and then it’s on to fajitas and tacos galore—and more tequila, of course!
A self-dubbed hipster hangout, 97 Estoria (@97estoria) is always a top stop during a night on the town. With a prime location just steps from the Krog Street Tunnel, not to mention immaculate vibes and live music performances, the popular Cabbagetown dive bar offers guests a bare-bones space... because more room for drinking, duh!
Once you go Man vs Fries (@manvsfries), you never go back. Three steps, that’s all it takes to change your life. One: Choose your fries, straight or curly. Two: Choose your meat—beef or chicken. Three: Choose your style, NorCal or SoCal. Drunk munchies have you craving more? Order the Flamin’ Cali Crunch wrap, stuffed with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and endless other goodness.
