It’s out with the old and in with new for the Atlanta Falcons. The team released an entirely new set of uniforms, and we are here for it. The comprehensive redesign—which is the first in 17 years—will usher in the 2020 season in style. Using nearly two decades of fan research and input from the players, the new Falcons swag honors teams past and present, and also reflects the state-of-the-art design of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The new-and-improved uniform lineup includes eight different color combinations. Black jerseys and black pants will be the official Falcons home look, and the dirty birds will wear white on white while on the road. Also on the roster: The current throwback jersey, which salutes the 1966 team, and a new “Rise Up” alternate uniform. The collection now includes four jerseys, four pants and one helmet. While the new design looks simple and sleek, the unis are dripping with detail. The official design process—which began in January 2018—was slow and steady, using the Falcons’ internal design team, the NFL and Nike to bring the uniform to life. While the overall look is monochrome, a few elements are highlighted in the team’s iconic red, including the familiar Falcons bird logo, an ATL mark across the chest and a stripe down the side of the uniform. Red also makes an appearance as a primary jersey color in the new gradient “Rise Up” alternate uniform color. “There's just a feeling to it. I can't explain it when you look in your locker and that color and head to toe in black is going to be good, too. I don't know what it is, but I know there's a feeling that comes with it for the guys, too, when we see that in our lockers,” says Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan. For those that want to add the new swag to their own collection, the time is quickly approaching. The new Nike Falcons fan jerseys are on sale, so make sure to stock up before fall. We’ll see you at the Benz.
