With a brand relaunch, a capsule collection and home decor and fragrances on the way, design doyenne and STUD. (@studpillows) founder Aurielle Jones is making her mark on Atlanta—one decorative pillow at a time.

“I kept hitting roadblocks with my design business, and I just wanted to design something without opinions, budgets or limits,” says STUD. founder and SCAD grad Aurielle Jones. “I always say it started with a selfish need to express myself.” Now, the recently relaunched Atlanta-based biz delivers decorative pillows with a distinct fashion-forward edge. From the signature Sin pillow with matte black faux leather and Valentino-esque gilded spikes to styles trimmed with pearls, chains, embossed croc and satin, “I can confidently say no one has pillows like this on the market,” she declares. “They are statement pieces that put your personality at the forefront of your space.”

This summer, Jones’ designs join the main stage as she releases an exclusive pillow for The Carpentry’s (@shopthecarpentry) capsule collection. Alongside womenswear, accessories, home decor and art, STUD.’s mirrored Mercury pillow joins the luxury concept store’s lineup of standout curated goods from independent Black designers, artisans, artists and makers—all inspired by Missy Elliott’s “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly).” Says Jones, “It’s very important to me to inspire other creatives who look like me. You never know how your products can affect and motivate someone into pursuing their dreams. To have my products alongside other amazing creatives on The Carpentry means I get to do just that.”

Also on the horizon, Jones will debut STUD. home decor and fragrances. “It’s still coming!” she says. “Little by little I’ve been gathering inspo, sketching out designs and doing small focus groups on what we’re missing in the industry.” For now, we’ll be impatiently waiting for this much-anticipated unveiling.
