At the annual To Live & Dine event presented by Modern Luxury and ADAC, nine of the Southeast’s top interior designers showcased incredible originality and creativity with tables inspired by the Sherwin-Williams 2025 Color Capsules.
Since its inception, To Live & Dine has evolved into a synergetic collaboration. Now in its 10th year, To Live & Dine is more than an event. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration and the beauty of design through luxury dining. The transformation of this event has been in the making for many years now, as we are honing in on the partnership between the selected designers, who are tasked with curating a picturesque dining space through the endless resources ADAC has to offer.

The garden party’s enchanting allure initially inspired the Live & Dine space concept. Williams and Papadopoulos turned to their trusted collaborators at Jim Thompson, whose unwavering support was instrumental in bringing the vision to life. Drawing upon Jim Thompson’s rich history and Thai heritage, they crafted the theme “Jardin Exotique.” Th is vibrant creation was brought to life with an array of orchids, bold colors, and even a playful cheetah, all of which beautifully encapsulated the exotic elegance and lushness of the envisioned garden party. To further enhance the immersive experience, the designers tapped artist Daniel Zimmermann to create a handpainted mural that seamlessly incorporated the Sherwin-Williams color palette chosen for the project.

The inspiration for this year’s design stemmed from the Met Gala theme A Garden in Time. The designers selected Tanbark for the wall color, evoking the rich hues of a dusky desert sunset. They incorporated dried flowers and zen garden sand to evoke a timeless garden atmosphere. Complementary elements included bronze metal decor and a white oak candle tray, adding depth and elegance. For a touch of authenticity, the designers imagined a desert dinner setting where tequila would be the natural drink of choice.

The theme “Evolution of Edgy Elegance” explores the harmonious coexistence of soft sophistication and raw edginess. James crafted an art-filled space where these contrasting elements blend seamlessly. The tablescape features a collection of fine china inherited from the designer’s grandmother, alongside a variety of vintage salad plates that introduce an edgy touch. At the same time, a consistent color palette preserves elegance. Inspired by black-and-white sketches, the tablecloth’s trailing leaves motif echoes the plate’s vine design. The fabric is adorned with butterflies, dragonflies, and lotus flowers, each symbolizing transformation and reinforcing the theme’s dynamic nature.

Inspired by the timeless elegance and relaxed charm of Southern France, Marini crafted a table that blends grace with effortless comfort. The design incorporates pieces collected from years of travel to Provence, reflecting the serene beauty of French countryside living. Key details include a custom tablecloth and barcloths featuring images of antique glassware, as well as unique napkins made from century-old linen, part of a new French-inspired line. Glassware, dishes, cutlery, and candelabras were sourced from French flea markets, adding authenticity. Drapes were handmade from burlap painted with Sherwin-Williams Oyster White, while lamps, columns, busts, and sconces from the designer’s personal collection complete the curated, bespoke look.

Tables feature Sherwin-Williams Frank Blue, with Alabaster and Inkwell window treatments and vibrant Roman shades. Walls in Sherwin-Williams Dragon Fruit add bold pop. Custom banquettes match the walls, flanking a central table. “It’s like Alice in Wonderland, but Alice is grown up, and she’s a boss,” says Elliot. The table setting includes 14K gold-accented dessert plates, gold-banded china, and pink wine glasses with butterfly-etched goblets. Floral arrangements reflect the collection’s colors, and each table is surrounded by cascading greenery, Ficus trees, and hanging baskets to evoke a lush garden ambiance.
