All Grown Up

Allison Mitchell | November 4, 2014 | Articles

From teen idol to bona fide sex symbol, Nick Jonas has come a long way since his Disney days. Riding high on the release of his self-titled debut solo album out Nov. 11, our fave Jo-bro is celebrating with JEZ Nov. 20 at our VIP-only 18th anniversary party at Havana Club. So what better way to prep for his upcoming ATL appearance than to get the lowdown on all things Jonas? Here, the 22-year-old dishes on his beauty queen girlfriend, Olivia Culpo; getting jealous; and those steamy Marky Mark inspired pictures. @nickjonas

We’ve had your new single “Jealous” on repeat all month. Are you tapping into your personal life on this song?
I’m definitely pulling from real experience. I was out the night before going into the studio with my girlfriend and this guy kind of kept staring for too long. Instead of getting frustrated, I went out the next day and wrote this song.

We have to imagine she’s had her fair share of jealousy dating you too! Tell us about those racy Marky Mark photos.
I had just signed with Wilhelmina Models, and it was one of the first things we decided to do together. When the pictures came out, I was kind of shocked by the reaction, but it’s been great. It’s nice to see there are continuing to be [opportunities] to show people the person I am today.

In honor of our Most Beautiful Issue, what do you find beautiful?
The most beautiful thing to me is when someone is confident and aware of what makes them special. I feel very fortunate to have met somebody that has that confidence.

You’re pretty confident as well. Can we expect a shirtless performance in Atlanta?
No, shirt will be staying on for sure! [laughs] It’s been awhile [since I’ve been in Atlanta], so I’m looking forward to getting back there.
