Once a year, the entire design world makes its way to Milan for the fashion week of furniture, Salone del Mobile. Modern Luxury’s National Interiors Editor, Sarah Bray, was on the scene scouting emerging trends in textiles, seating, lighting and decorative objects. Here, she shares what caught her ubersharp eye.
/ One of my first stops in Milan was American expat JJ Martin’s studio in Piazza Arcole. This season, La DoubleJ launched bright bed linens in a dozen different prints.
/ I’m obsessed with the minimalist-meets-luxe look of this garden chair by Italian brand Sotow.
/ American interior designer Sasha Bikoff collaborated with Versace Home on a neon space at the brand’s storied palazzo in Via Gesù.
/ For Artemest’s Living Objects exhibition, a villa that was originally designed by Gio Ponti was slightly refreshed with new pieces like this headboard by Orsi.
/ Studio Ossidiana transformed the grounds of Villa Necchi Campiglio into a fantastical garden.
/ High above Milan, on the top floor of Torre Breda, 1stdibs and Gufram created a pop-up club that was espresso bar by day and disco by night.
