Ben Sidell (@bsidell) is a relatively unknown triple threat in the film industry… for now. Writing, producing and starring in his short film, Content (@contentshortfilm), Sidell is using his talents to tell stories not traditionally shown on the silver screen. Sidell’s mission is shared by the Out on Film LGBTQ Film Festival, where Content will make its Atlanta debut. The festival, Sept. 26-Oct. 6, will screen Content along with dozens of other work created by LGBTQ artists. Out on Film is in its 32nd year of celebrating the LGBTQ community, its artists and the diverse stories told. Residents of Atlanta will soon get their first look at Content, but, earlier this summer the film had a successful world premiere as an official selection of the worlds largest LGBTQ film festival, Outfest Los Angeles.

In Content, Sidell draws on his own experiences, tackling the intricacies of sexual assault and consent in the queer community. These themes are manifested in the dynamic between a professional photographer (played by Philip Maximilian) and his model, Kevin (Sidell). As the photoshoot progresses, Kevin is pushed to ask himself how far he is willing to go for a great shot. The short film, artfully shot by Drew Bienemann, with direction from Chris Coats, is meant to ask tough questions about recognition and where lines of professionalism are drawn.

Content will be showcased alongside five other short films on Oct. 3. 4pm, Midtown Arts Cinema, tickets from $30, all access pass $175
