Melissa Schilo is no stranger to the world of beauty. As a former competitive ballroom dancer, choreographer and performer, the Perth, Australia, native grew up in the spotlight donning stage makeup regularly. “That is where my love for false lashes really started,” explains the stunning Buckhead resident. “I remember back when there was only one brand of false lashes on the market, and they were crazy huge—terrific for being onstage but not [for] a natural day look.” Fast-forward to May 2011 and the beauty maven made the move to Atlanta, where she founded Smashes Lashes, a luxury line of faux lashes made from 100-percent human hair. The brand currently carries 10 signature styles perfect for day or nighttime looks, and will introduce five more creations this year, including bottom lashes. Up next?
