For makeup artist and beauty blogger extraordinaire Jennifer Duvall, making others feel beautiful began as a hobby. The Columbus, Ga. native majored in fashion merchandising at the University of Georgia and planned to pursue a job as a buyer for a major retailer. “I had been working as a freelance makeup artist on the side but never thought in a million years it would become my actual profession,” the Athens resident recalls. Stints at Nordstrom’s Estée Lauder counter and Free People’s AmericasMart showroom followed, but it wasn’t until her hubby encouraged her to pursue beauty as a full-time gig that she decided to go for a glam slam. Thus, JennySue Makeup, the brand and blog were born. From hosting beauty events at Bloomingdale’s to contributing to major mags, Duvall is the one to call. Her biggest career highlight? Getting booked as Dierks Bentley’s makeup artist for his Athens-shot music video “Tip It Back,” in which her sons have a cameo. Next up, she and hubby Scott are launching a podcast called “Making It Up As We Grow,” which will give an inside look at her blogging career and spotlight other emerging businesses. Here, Duvall gives us a peek inside her well-stocked beauty bag. @jennysuemakeup
