Holiday House Palm Springs’ lobby
Designed by Mark D. Sikes
“The interiors of Holiday House were most definitely inspired by Palm Springs and the midcentury design it’s so known for,” says designer Mark D. Sikes. “The original architecture of Herbert Burns was enhanced and refreshed with a vibrant cobalt and white palette. This graphic palette with textures of bamboo and rattan create the backdrop to an amazing collection of modern art curated diligently by the owners of the hotel. The art is fun, vibrant and happy, just like Palm Springs. This is one of the many reasons people love Holiday House and why I like to refer to it as the ‘Happy House.’” @holidayhouseps; @markdsikes
The Pink Cabana restaurant at Sands Hotel & Spa in Indian Wells
Designed by Martyn Lawrence Bullard
“The hotel has the feeling of an exotic oasis,” says designer Martin Lawrence Bullard. “It captures the old Palm Springs vibe yet offers an exclusive resort experience that references the famous country clubs where the stars flocked during the ’40s and ’50s. As with all my projects, the hotel captures a sense of place that is exclusive to the hotel and to Indian Wells. The Pink Cabana restaurant has its own flavor and again offers a nod to the history as well as the future of this part of Coachella Valley.” @sandshotelspa; @martynbullard
The living room of the Gene Autry Residence at the Parker Palm Springs
Designed by Jonathan Adler
“Palm Springs is singular, and I wanted to create a hotel that captures its essence—groovy modern architecture meets Hollywood glamour—and crank it up a notch,” says designer Jonathan Adler. “The vibe is cheeky hedonistic luxury.” Adler’s most recent design refreshes nearly every corner of the property, including a complete reimagining of the Gene Autry Residence, the resort’s most exclusive suite, with two bedrooms, two baths, spacious living area, screening room and a private, gated outdoor area. @parkerpalmsprings; @jonathanadler
