When: 7:30-9:00 p.m.
Expect: Emceed by All the Hits Q100's Jenny Hobby, this kickoff event features professionally pastry chefs, amateurs and children all hoping their concoction wins the prize of Atlanta's Best Dessert. Guests will enjoy sampling confectionery creations by some of Atlanta's best pastry chefs, sipping flavorful wines and participating in a silent auction. Tickets include a champagne reception with Hobby and a sampling of her own special baked treat. All proceeds from the event benefit Share Our Strength, a national organization working to end childhood hunger by 2015.

2010 American Craft Council Show
Be There: Cobb Galleria Center
Expect: Nearly 225 artists will be selling their wares in categories such as ceramics, glass, jewelry and metal. Those wanting an early opportunity to meet featured artists should plan to attend the Preview Party on Thursday March 11, from 6-9 p.m. Preview party tickets are $75 in advance or $85 at the door, and are available at museumofdesign.org

When: Gates open at noon, walk/run begins at 2 p.m.
Expect: This event, which is sponsored in part by JEZEBEL, will feature family-friendly activities and live entertainment. The event is free to talkers (a $25 donation is encouraged). "Spring Awakening"
Be There: The Fabulous Fox Theatre
Expect: Broadway's most talked about musical and eight-time Tony Award winner. The show, which is part of the Atlanta Broadway Series, is set against the backdrop of a repressive and provincial late-19th-century Germany and tells the story of teenage self-discovery and budding sexuality. "Spring Awakening" contains mature themes, sexual situations and strong language, so this one isn't for the kids.
